Philippe Emedi, Congo

Studies:
University of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa; Class of 2010.

Focus of Studies: Philippe is studying the New Testament. His dissertation focuses on Spiritual Formation and how discipleship can help close the gap between academia and grassroots theology in the African Church.

About Philippe: Philippe works with the Accreditation Council for Theological Education in Africa (ACTEA). He is currently living in South Africa and is grateful for a community of Evangelical students there, including two other CISF supported scholars, Eraste and Rose Nyrimana. He has recently been granted an extension on his study permit, which is a significant answer to prayer since it allows him to remain in the country for his studies.

Family: Philippe and his wife have four children—Tania Missa Emedi (21); Yolanda Lohelo Emedi (19); Gilbert Emedi (15); Cecilia-Karen Musau W'Emedi (9).

Prayer Requests: Philippe asks for prayer for his homeland of Congo as well as his family, who are now all in South Africa with him. Philippe continues to carry significant responsibility for ACTEA, but needs to free up time to focus on his studies.
