Focus of Studies: Tharwat’s dissertation focuses on the necessary transition taking place in the Presbyterian church in Egypt as it moves from a missionary led denomination to one led by Egyptians. His work has implications for much of Africa which has only recently made a shift from being a missionary plant to widespread indigenous leadership.

Accomplishments: Tharwat is back in Cairo teaching several courses at his seminary, Evangelical Theological School, Cairo.
